SHORT BIO:
DENI BONET fronts this exciting and well-regarded band - favorites at festivals, arts centers, summer concert series, colleges & clubs throughout the country.
They have gained a reputation (and amazing press) for their catchy, high-energy, roots-based songs, with smart, ironic lyrics and particularly for Deni’s world-class violin playing and tongue-in-cheek delivery. Not your usual angst-ridden singer/songwriter, Deni invites us all to “snap out of it!” when dealing with life’s inevitable problems.
They have performed at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals across the USA, yet are still happy to play a stripped down show in a coffeehouse for 40 people.
In either an electric or acoustic format, Deni and her band have a reputation for being one |
of the most entertaining and exciting acts on the live scene.
Deni was an original cast member of NPR's premier music show, MOUNTAIN STAGE, before forming her own band, which has been described in the press as “like Sheryl Crow meets the B 52's” & “like Debbie Harry fronting the Dave Matthews Band.”
Although classically trained, Deni quit the classical world because she hated having to wear black and sit still! She has recorded & performed with Cyndi Lauper, REM, Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls, Richard Thompson, Robyn Hitchcock and many others. Her music has been featured on HBO, NBC, American Airlines and in several film and modern dance projects
